SPREADSHEET CAPABILITIES
WHY?
- The First race I directed had about 80 participants.
- I was handed a print out of the race times.
- I was given the hand written list of names.
- I was give a list of race numbers.
- Similar to this:
-

- I then spent the next three hours manually typing in everything, and I did not realy know how to collate the results anyway!!
- "Bisogno cambiá qualcossa de drio!" Tulio Campagnolo was talking
about replacing Wing Nuts with a Quick release, I'm talking about replacing manual
error prone results with fully automated systems!
SO WHAT CAN IT DO?
- Run seven different race types from the same interface
- Indicate if a member has a current or expired licence (If connected to the full
system with database).
- Avoid misspelled names, for unusual names that should only be corrected once, not
every time the results are created by different people. Fast data entry for finish times
- Create a start list for easy printing, by start time by grade.
- Easy sort of information by clicking on the cell containing the column header to
sort such as Race Number, Name, Grade, Start time.
- Automatically create the time trial start order
- Extremely easy method of altering start times for each grade.
- One page to do all data entry, alter start times, and complete results.
- Simple interface to the full system, and only connect to the full system if the
internet is connected.
- Adjust names and ages all on the one sheet.
- Quick find for riders in a drop down.
- Allocation of race numbers defaulting to 700 and above.
- Bulk data entry and copy from previously entered numbers from a different source.
Copy the entire column of names or numbers and paste into the sign on sheet
- Self repairing spreadsheet whereby one or more rows can be deleted or inserted and
all formulae are created and/or repaired
- No extra work required for DNF. just dont put the riders number in the "Finish
Chute" Column
- Help system built into the spreadsheet
- Save three hours of your life. Full data entry of 80 riders, and completed
results in 15 minutes total. Can handle upto 9999 riders.
- Most importantly, sit anyone down in front of it, and they can do the data entry
and results with next to no instruction required. However, it is always wise
to dry run the system before a race.
- If you have the full system interfaced to the database, the updated personal information,
including grading, and emergency contact details is downloaded to the sign on spreadsheet.
